About the company
nomo is a fintech platform for copy-trading and trading (CFDs and forex). Latin America is our core market today, and we’re rapidly expanding into new ones. We take a category most people find intimidating – leveraged trading – and make it feel approachable, trustworthy, and genuinely usable for everyday people. Millions of small decisions in our product either build a user’s confidence or lose it, and design is where that gets decided.
We’re at the rapid-expansion stage: shipping quickly, learning from real usage, and raising the bar on every screen as we go. This is a rare chance to shape the experience of a fast-growing financial product from close to the ground floor.
About the role
We’re looking for a Product Designer with deep UX expertise to own the end-to-end experience of nomo – from onboarding and the copy-trading flows to the trading terminal, portfolio views, and everything in between.
This is not a role for someone who waits for tickets. We want a designer who audits what we already have, spots what’s confusing or broken, and shows up with proposals – not just when asked. You’ll be the person who says “our deposit funnel loses people here, and here’s a fix,” before anyone assigns it to you. You’ll take real ownership of problems, from framing them through to shipped, polished UI.
You’ll work directly with product, engineering, and the head of product (an individual contributor who’s deep in the details), so clear thinking and clear communication matter as much as craft. We move fast, so we care a lot about designers who use modern tools – including AI – to prototype, iterate, and ship faster without dropping quality.
What you’ll do:
- Own the experience end-to-end. Take features from ambiguous problem to shipped, high-fidelity UI: discovery, flows, edge cases, states, error and recovery paths, and the final visual polish.
- Be proactive, not reactive. Regularly audit the existing product, identify friction and opportunities, and bring proposals to the table before they become assigned tasks. Treat the product as if it’s yours.
- Design flows, not just screens. Anticipate where users get stuck – especially in onboarding, KYC, funding, and the copy-trading and trading flows – and design so they don’t.
- Turn complexity into clarity. Make leveraged trading, copy-trading, portfolio performance, and risk information legible and calm for a mainstream audience, without dumbing it down.
- Partner closely with engineering. Collaborate through implementation, review the built result against the design, and catch regressions before users do.
- Contribute to and evolve our design system. Build reusable patterns and components so the product stays consistent and coherent as it scales.
- Use research and data. Lean on user feedback, funnel data, and usage patterns to decide what to design and to validate that it worked.
- Prototype with AI. Use AI tools to quickly bring ideas to life – including animations and interactions – so decisions are made on something tangible, not static mockups. Help the team level up how it works.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong UX expertise first. You can turn complex, high-stakes problems into simple, intuitive flows. You think in systems and user journeys, not isolated mockups – and you can explain the “why” behind every decision.
- Fintech experience – ideally trading. You’ve designed for financial products (trading, investing, brokerage, crypto, banking, or payments). Experience with trading or trading-adjacent products is a strong plus, because the domain is genuinely hard and the stakes for users are real.
- Proactive ownership. You define problems, set direction, and drive work to completion with minimal oversight. You take initiative and responsibility instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Strong craft. A portfolio showing high-quality UI – typography, spacing, hierarchy, color, interaction detail – across shipped work, not just concepts.
- Fluency with Figma and component-based design systems.
- AI-powered prototyping. You use AI tools to move fast – and specifically to prototype animations and interactions, so ideas can be felt and evaluated rather than just described. This is something we expect you to do, not a nice-to-have.
- Clear communication. You can bring engineers, PMs, and stakeholders along on your decisions, give and take honest critique, and change your mind when the evidence says so.
- Comfort with ambiguity and speed. You thrive in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where scope shifts and you’re often defining the problem yourself.
- English proficiency for day-to-day collaboration.
Nice to have:
- A working understanding of how front-end code works – enough to design within real constraints and collaborate smoothly with engineers. You won’t be expected to write or ship production code.
- Strong mobile-first / responsive web design (that’s where our product lives today; native apps may come later).
- Motion / micro-interaction design where it improves usability.
- Experience designing data-dense interfaces (charts, tables, real-time data).
- Experience with high-growth emerging markets; familiarity with LatAm is a plus.
- Language skills that help you collaborate: Spanish and/or Portuguese for our markets, and Ukrainian is a plus for working closely with our engineering team.
Why join:
- Real ownership and impact. You’ll be the design voice for a product used by a fast-growing user base, with the autonomy to shape it – not a cog waiting for specs.
- Ship fast, see results. Small team, short path from idea to production, and quick feedback from real users.
- A hard, meaningful problem. Making trading understandable and trustworthy for everyday people in emerging markets is a genuine design challenge worth solving.
- Fully remote. Work from anywhere, with the flexibility that comes with it.
We offer:
- Full-time remote job;
- Paid annual leave;
- Work with professional team and friendly atmosphere;
- Minimum of bureaucracy.
How to apply
Send us your portfolio along with a short note. In your portfolio, we especially want to see:
- One or two projects where you owned the experience end-to-end, and the impact it had.
- Your process and the rationale behind key design decisions.
- An example of when you spotted a problem and proposed the fix yourself, rather than being handed the task.
